Yeah, it's been a while. I know that. My last update was March of 2010. The thing is, unless I continue scouring the internet for Lost Boys stuff, the site's not going to get updated all that often. I don't have a forum or self-updating fanfiction archive. Hotel Twilight is just a fan site, updated when I get stuff. I've greatly pulled back on acquiring stuff pretty much because I kept coming across duplicates. My collection is just that big that I'm not finding much that I don't already have. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but it's the truth. Every once in a while I'll head on over to eBay to see if anything's available but that's not often and when I do, I don't find much. That's not to mention the money aspect. So my updates have gotten to be sporadic at best. If nothing more, I'll make sure this site remains available for as long as humanly possible. That's gotta count for something.
Within the last year a couple of friends have sent me some paintings and images from the movie so I've added those to the site. My friend Lizzie was the one that sent over the paintings and the image of Star and Laddie in the cave. My other friend Jenn sent me a copy of a rare photo of Laddie in the cave. The paintings can be found under Donations, Fan Art, Paintings by Lizzie. The two movie images can be found in The Gallery, Miscellaneous Images.
The last photo I received is not a Lost Boys image but carries the autograph of a rather elusive Lost Boys actor, one Alex Winter. You heard that right. Alex Winter aka Marko. Thanks to a tip from my friend Tori, I was able to head on up to Alex's first con appearance in Massachusetts, wherein I turned into a bit of a giddy fan girl. But that's okay. I still got myself, and Jenn (another uber-Alex fan), an autograph. Mine was on a Bill and Ted promo shot and Jenn's was on Marko's vamp face. Awesome, right? You can see that autograph in The Gallery under Autographs.
I'm in the process of uploading some more photos to my Lost Boys Shutterfly page. A bunch of us went to Santa Cruz in September of 2010 and I have some pictures to share there. Plus I took a couple with Alex that are in dire need of sharing.
I combed through all of the outside links on my site and either updated or completely removed all broken links. I was sad to see a couple of the sites go completely but such is the way of the internet.
Speaking of purging, I'm deleting the Hotel's MySpace account. Considering MySpace is no longer all that relevant, I haven't been on it in ages and at some point in their updates, they completely screwed their templates, I no longer feel like dealing with it. I could create a Facebook fan page for the site but that's just something else that I'd need to keep on top of and, quite frankly, I don't have the energy for that. So if you're a friend of the Hotel on MySpace, sorry.
And I think what is the last piece of the update, I've added a link to The Boardwalk under the Directory on the site. The Boardwalk is my own little space on CafePress where I sell some Lost Boys-inspired gear. Everything is copyright friendly (at least according to my interpretation of the definition of Fair Use) so don't go there looking for poster images on t-shirts or anything. It's filled with mainly some quote from the movie, image inspiration, quotes from my fanfic, things like that. Check it out. You'll see.
No wait - this is the last piece of the update: I accidentally deleted Murder Capital of the World. Dumbass, I know. If you go to www.murdercapitaloftheworld.com, you'll still see the template and general look of the site there. I'm just missing content. I had some extra subdomains lying around so when I went to delete one, apparently is was connected to this site and poof! Gone. At least I saved the template. That was the biggest pain in the ass. The content is just tedious. I'm hoping to get that back up eventually.
Anyway, that's it for now, folks. Keep up the Lost Boys love and until next time . . .
